Canva’s Magic Studio provides powerful tools to enhance your designs using AI, making it easier to create stunning visuals with less effort. While AI can help with almost any aspect of design, I have a few favorites that I rely on regularly. These tools stand out because of their efficiency, creativity, and how they simplify the design process. In fact, These Are My Top 5 Canva AI Tools that I find myself turning to again and again whenever I’m working on a project in Canva.

My Top 5 Canva AI Tools:

Easy Resize & Magic Switch Canva AI Tool

Designing for multiple platforms like social media, posters or digital ads, can be time-consuming, especially when you need to resize and adjust your designs for different formats. Canva’s Magic Switch and Resize tools simplify this process significantly.

With just one click these tools let you resize your designs to fit various formats. AI automatically adjusts and recomposes elements to suit new size. While it does a great job you might still need to make a few tweaks to perfect the layout.

If you’re using Canva for more than just a casual creative hobby, Magic Switch and Resize features are excellent reasons to consider upgrading from Canva Free to Canva Pro. These tools save time and effort making your design process smoother and more efficient.

Although it’s not specifically an AI tool, Canva’s Docs to Decks feature offers a similar benefit by reformatting design documents into presentation decks. Once you’ve finished your design simply select Resize & Magic Switch, choose sizes you need (or add custom size) and let tools do work. After resizing, open new designs to finalize element placement before saving them.

Magic Write Canva AI Tool

Canva’s Magic Write offers a range of tools to help improve and transform your writing. You can access these tools by either selecting a text box and choosing Magic Write or by clicking Quick Actions button in bottom right corner (using / key as a shortcut).

Here’s what Magic Write can do:

• Shorten or summarize your text
• Rewrite your content
• Automatically fix spelling mistakes

If you’re not confident in your writing skills, you can use Custom Prompt option. It works like AI generators such as ChatGPT providing useful AI chat prompts to guide you.

Whether you need little help polishing your writing or need to create text from scratch, Magic Write is versatile tool for enhancing your Canva designs. Some features are also available on Canva’s free plan.

Magic Translate Canva AI Tool

Canva introduced Magic Translate as part of its AI tool library making it easier to create multilingual designs. This tool uses AI to translate your text which can save you lot of time and money when working on designs for different languages. However, it’s always good idea to have native speaker review translation to ensure that it conveys correct message.

What I really like about Magic Translate is that it not only translates your entire document while maintaining your design style but it also allows you to choose tone of voice. This helps ensure that translation aligns with your brand’s message. In some languages, tone can significantly alter meaning of phrase so this feature is especially useful.

To use Translate feature: simply select text box in your design then go to Resize & Magic Switch > Translate. Canva offers translations in over 130 languages and they continue to add more with each update.

Although Magic Translate is Canva Pro tool. Canva Free users can still access it using one of their 50 free AI credits. These credits can be used on some—but not all—of Canva’s AI tools, giving everyone chance to try out this powerful feature.

Magic Morph Canva AI Tool

Canva’s Magic Morph is powerful tool that brings new level of creativity to your designs similar to Adobe Firefly’s AI font generation. You can find Magic Morph under Quick Actions (by pressing / key) or within Canva’s app list. Note that this is Pro tool.

To use Magic Morph: start by selecting an element or text from your design. You can also choose to add new element from Magic Morph if you don’t have one in your design already. Next, type prompt into text box like “red foil balloon,” and select Magic Morph to generate options. You’ll receive four different results to choose from and you can even generate more if needed.

Magic Morph is great for adding extra depth and style to your Canva designs. It works especially well with text which often looks flat but can also enhance other elements. Unlike Canva’s standard tools Magic Morph adds more detailed and dynamic look to your designs.

While Canva isn’t as focused on image manipulation as Adobe Photoshop, Magic Morph allows you to include image manipulation-like effects in just few seconds, giving your designs a professional and polished appearance.

Grab Text Canva AI Tool

Canva’s Grab Text tool is one of my favorite features. It’s Canva Pro tool, so you’ll need a Pro subscription or a free trial to access it but it’s definitely worth it.

I especially love using Grab Text after generating AI images with text. Many AI image generators struggle to create readable text in English, and Grab Text is perfect for fixing those unreadable text fragments. However, you can also use it for regular text in Canva projects or uploaded photos. Simply select image with text, choose Edit Image and then select Grab Text.

This tool is great because it can identify any text in image even if it’s in gibberish or unfamiliar language, and convert it into editable format. This means you can easily rewrite text in photos or remove it altogether.

Canva’s AI does fantastic job of recognizing font used or finding similar one if you need to rewrite text. It also fills in the space neatly if you decide to remove text. It’s huge time-saver compared to using image editing software like Adobe Photoshop which can take much longer.

Conclusion

While many of Canva’s AI tools are available with Pro subscription they can still save you money compared to more expensive software options. Canva offers variety of other AI tools as well such as Magic Design, Magic Animate, Magic Expand and Magic Edit. These tools are fun and useful but Grab Text is one of my top recommendations for anyone using Canva Pro.
